The Island of Ghosts is a haunting story that takes place on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland. When Dara and Brendan don't return from their sailing trip with Mr Webb to the Island of Ghosts, everyone in the village assumes they have drowned, except their sisters Barbara and Cait. The two girls borrow a boat and set out to find their brothers, but they too become captives of Mr Webb on the island.

This mystery features the adventures of Michael and Matthew Jones as they spend their thirteenth summer working on their grandparents Cougar Creek Guest Ranch in the Colorado Rockies. This is the first summer they are out on the range with the cattle, helping the Cougar Creek wranglers. They are sent to find some missing cattle and find trouble instead and are hampered by KiKi, an eleven year old girl who is a guest along with her parents at the ranch. She is outspoken and obnoxious and determined to follow the boys wherever they go. Crazy Pete, an old miner, and his half wolf dog help rescue them from a scary few hours deep in an old mine.
